The cruise to embark on August 12 was canceled. On the
previous cruise, the ship's propeller was damaged by a small ice
growler while it cruised on the way to Southern East Greenland.
It returned to Iceland on one screw-divers and proceeded to Belfast for
drydocking. A passenger writes: Ship's
officers kept passengers well informed and ship went to alternate
ports/parts of Iceland where ice was not a concern. After screw
mechanism damaged we were slow on one engine but safe and sure.
Passengers had nothing but praise and emphathy for Clipper & crew.
